Anima Tree Therapy
Helping mums & dads to be the roots their children need.
For families living abroad — a space to feel supported, understood and held.
Hello, I am Patricia...
...mum of two and living with my partner and four children in total (two kids and two teenagers). I am a Body Mind therapist and a Gestalt Therapist with an embryological approach, specialized in pre- and perinatal therapy and ecotherapy. Founder of Anima Tree. My journey as a mother has been a profound source of transformation: the pregnancy and birth of my two daughters marked a turning point in my personal and professional life. Living abroad and being part of a two culture family brought me challenges that shaped my experience as a mum. As a result of that experience, I began to accompany couples in their preparation for childbirth and mothers and fathers in their transition to motherhood and fatherhood. Over time, this vocation became the focus of my therapeutic work. My motherhood continues to be a path of constant evolution and learning, which I put at the service of my sessions and support groups. I deeply believe that the early stages of life are key to our emotional and relational development, both as daughters and sons and in our role as parents. In addition, my connection with nature through Ecotherapy and having a somatic approach, has taught me that in parenting being present, rooted and supported is an experience that opens the way to a fuller and more authentic relationship with our children, but also with ourselves. That is why I accompany this process from a body mind connection, broad awareness and a deep respect for each parent process.
Am I the right therapist for you?
I work with parents to be and mums in their journey of becoming a more balanced and authentic parent for their children. I am the right therapist for you if you look for a professional who:
-
Understands your situation because has raised their own children abroad and has lived in different countries and cultures
-
Has years of experience accompanying parents to be and mums, supporting them in finding their own balance between taking care of their children and themselves
-
Works taking into account that you (and your children) are a multidimensional being with a wise body, mind, emotions and a specific way to combine them all
-
Does not believe in perfect parents or families but in adult people taking responsibility for their part and doing the best they can with it
-
Knows that even mild trauma can be on the way of us being the parents we really want to be for our children
-
Believes that having support as a mum makes a big difference because we also need it to feel grounded and confident to become a solid support for our children
- Thinks that healing your inner child and past wounds makes you a more present and calmer parent
-
Belives that motherhood is one aspect of our life but we have a lot more to deal with and these other aspects are welcome to therapy too
- Finds out every day that real self-love extended to our family is the best present you can give to your kids
Feeling supported and held is key to offer a calm and secure bond as a parent.
SERVICES:
EVERY PARENT IS DIFFERENT, SO WITH EACH PERSON I WORK IN A DIFFERENT WAY. THESE ARE SOME OF THE TECHNIQUES I MIGHT USE:

-
Body Mind therapy to help you stay more present and connected to yourself and your own family
-
Techniques to help you express your emotions in a safe way both in therapy or at home (i.e. journaling, somatic movement, art therapy, role play...)
-
Techniques such mindfulness, meditation and body awareness to help you calm down and regulate when you need them
FINDING THE BALANCE TO BE YOUR PART OF THE FAMILY
BALANCE BETWEEN TAKING CARE OF YOURSELF, YOUR RELATIONSHIP AND YOUR KIDS IS KEY and, getting to it, it is often a big challenge. Our life story comes in the way of how we would like things to be. Addressing key aspects of our past or the patterns we acquired and were useful once but that do not help us now, for example, are some of the main topics we need to face when we build our own family. Address them can free you from carrying aspects from your past to your current life, including the relationship with your kids. With support and accompaniment you can turn the challenges you are facing into wisdom to pass on to your children.
EMOTIONAL SUPPORT FOR NEW MUMS & DADS
BUILDING A BOND with our babies (and kids) is a process that requires care, time and holding. Sometimes we didn't receive these three qualities during our firsts years and we struggle to give them to our babies or young kids. Very often we need to deal with other issues of our past or present that are on the way of us being as present and caring as we would like to be with our kids. There are many reasons why we might need to feel supported to build a strong bond and a good base for the life long relationship with our kids. But all lead to the same place: the more supported and grounded you feel, the more you will be able to give your kids and family.
EMOTIONAL BIRTH PREPARATION AND SUPPORT FOR COUPLES
FOUR SESSIONS to help you feel confident, connected and present at the birth of your baby. I provide you both with techniques such Hypnobirthing, massages and movement exercises to practice at home together. I help partners to exercise their role as mum supporters during the most important day of their life as a family; and mums to be empowered and embodied to give birth feeling confident and under control.
This is your space if...
You feel overwhelmed and challenged as a mum/dad of babies, kids or teenagers
You struggle to be present with your kids or your partner
You are aware that your past history or wounds are on the way of building the family you would like to build
You struggle to bond with your baby or kids or you feel you are not bonding in a healthy way
You find difficult some aspects of being a mum/dad like setting limits, caring for yourself, being a partner and a mum/dad at the same time, etc.
You are scared of the birth of your baby, or want more support, or have lived a difficult experience at your birth, during pregnancy or with previous babies
And feel that living abroad makes everything even more challenging...
